The American Safety and Health Institute is an association of health and safety educators that provides certification in CPR, First Aid, and other basic topics for laypersons and professionals. Certification by the ASHI is generally accepted as valid and equivalent to similar certification given by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association in CPR and First Aid.

With the online blending learning CPR/AED & First Aid course, you will gain the critical skills needed to handle an emergency before emergency services arrive to help. The online learning provides the same skills and information as in-person course, but in an online environment.

This class is designed for individuals who have completed the online blended learning course. this is a continuation of the blended learning course, and required in order to be certified.

8 Hr DODD Initial Provider Training (online)

Course Length: 8 Hours (self-paced)

Certification: 1 year

The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) oversees a statewide system of supports and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. DODD does this by developing services that ensure an individual’s health and safety, encourage participation in the community, increase opportunities for meaningful employment, and provide residential services and support from early childhood through adulthood. 

The mission of DODD is continuous improvement of the quality of life for Ohio’s citizens with developmental disabilities and their families. In order to work with or to continue to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, a provider is required to have completed these trainings. 

We offer these trainings in an online based format that makes it easier on the Provider as well as any Agencies who may need theses trainings for their employees. Certificates can be sent straight to your Agency Administrator to ensure compliance.

Our training is interactive with assessments throughout to ensure maximum engagement and retention.

  • Roles and responsibilities of providers with regard to services including person-centered planning, community integration, self-determination, and self-advocacy 

  • Individual specific training 

  • Implementation of Individual Service Plans 

  • Introduction to Behavior Support Strategies / Trauma Informed Care

  • Documentation 

  • The requirements of new rule 5123:2-17-02 of the Administrative Code relating to addressing major unusual incidents and unusual incidents to ensure health, welfare and continuous quality improvement. 

  • Universal Precautions for infection control
